610: PeopleSoft Performance Tuning at UBS | |
UBS has been using PeopleSoft HR and Payroll for
over 3 years to pay its 33000 Swiss employees, originally a local
payroll, and PeopleSoft 8 and Global Payroll since January 2002. All of
their employees have self-service access, their HR managers have more
sophisticated access, all through the Internet Architecture. There have
been various performance challenges along the way. Accurate performance
metric information is required when deciding how to configure the system
and where to expend effort on tuning. As a result, typical on-line
response is sub-second, and the first payroll calculation completed in
under 30 minutes. This presentation will discuss, for both batch and
on-line processing, the various sources of performance metrics, what
they mean, how they relate to each other. See also EMEA Connect 2002 Conference website (PeopleSoft Customer Connection Login required). |
